  12.                        Special Note Regarding CD-ROM Installation
  13.  
  14.           The files on your CD-ROM are not compressed, so you can see the 
  15.           look of a program right from the CD-ROM by typing the program's 
  16.           .EXE name at the DOS prompt.  You will not be able to save any 
  17.           files you create in this manner, however.  To do that, you must 
  18.           install the program to a floppy or a hard drive.  It is recommended
  19.           that you install this program to a floppy disk if you wish to test 
  20.           it thoroughly.  That way, the files you create can be copied to 
  21.           your hard disk should you decide to keep it later on.

  23.           You can install Records of the Realm from your CD-ROM to a floppy 
  24.           disk, test it as thoroughly as you like, and then if you decide to 
  25.           keep it,  you can install it to your hard disk by running the 
  26.           Install found on your floppy disk, just as if the floppy disk were 
  27.           a distribution disk.  Install will copy over all of Record of the
  28.           Realm's files, and if you've created any data files, it will notify
  29.           you and ask if you want those copied over as well.

  36.                     Requires 260 Kb of disk space

  59.                             Installation from the CD-ROM
  60.  
  61.           From Records of the Realm's CD-ROM directory, type:
  62.  
  63.                                      install
  64.           
  65.           Install will ask for one or two items:
  66.                          
  67.                       1   the target drive, and
  68.                       2   the target directory (if copying to a hard disk)
  69.  
  70.           If you install Records of the Realm to a floppy disk, you will not 
  71.           be asked for a target directory.
  72.  
  73.           Please remember that you cannot install to a CD-ROM.

  75.           After specifying the drive (and directory, in the event you're
  76.           installing to a hard drive), Install will ask if you need to make 
  77.           any changes.  If you need to change an entry, press <Y> or the up
  78.           arrow.

  82.           Install offers \MYREALM as the default directory.  You can change 
  83.           it to your liking of course, but it is recommended that all of My 
  84.           Little Realm's programs be put in the same directory.

  86.           If you give Install the name of a directory that already exists, it
  87.           will put Records of the Realm into that existing directory.  
  88.  
  89.           Warning:  You should only put Records of the Realm into a directory
  90.           with other My Little Realm programs.  They are made to interact 
  91.           properly.  If Records of the Realm is your first MLR program, you 
  92.           should put it into its own directory.

  96.                               Printing the Documentation

  98.           To print Records of the Realm's documentation, go to the Records of
  99.           the Realm directory (MYREALM is used as an example) and direct the 
  100.           printout of RECORDS.TXT to the printer using the "> PRN" option as 
  101.           shown below.  Be sure your printer is on.

  111.                                 Printing an Order Form

  113.           To print an order form, go to the Records of the Realm directory 
  114.           and direct the printout of REGISTER.TXT to the printer using the 
  115.           "> PRN" option as shown below.  Be sure your printer is on.

  125.           in the Options Window of Records of the Realm.

  132.           keep track of your personally owned books, tapes, etc.), Public
